WORKED AS A SENIOR CREATIVE ASSOCIATE in the PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Think And Learn Pvt Ltd is an Educational Technology Firm in Bangalore, India. I worked with the firm as a Senior Creative Associate, to research and develop Digital Video Lectures for the Byjus Learning App.

Accessibility and Quality of Education has been a major challenge for quite some time now. At Think & Learn Pvt Ltd, Bangalore I had the opportunity to face this challenge and try to bring about a change in the education system in India. The purpose of our work was to reach out and encourage learning in a new way.

There were three major issues we aimed at overcoming with this project.

1. The ability to visualize concepts, in order to understand the concepts in totality. This was a major drawback of classroom teaching, and we aimed to overcome this by making these visualizations available digitally.

2. The ability to engage students and ignite curiosity to learn concepts by engrossing them in stories revolving around the concepts.

3. The ability to educate at the convenience and availability of the student. The availability of learning resources to the student must not be restricted by their location or other factors.

VISUAL IDEATION

Presenting students with a lot of data to cram up not only disinterests them but is also an inefficient way of learning. To avoid the information overload, we brainstormed the concepts in a comprehensive manner. The kind of visualization method to be adapted was decided at this stage in collaboration with the educators.

STORYBOARDING

While shooting against the green screen, educators gesture according to the finalized storyboard to help students focus on the right part of the screen and to make the video interactive.

THEME GENERATION

Graphic elements for various purposes like labeling, pointers, artwork style along with their motion was determined post storyboarding or sometimes during the storyboarding.

Color Palette and backgrounds were decided both for the content to look appealing and distinguishable. Colors and graphic elements also aided students’ capacity of retaining information. Fonts were worked upon keeping in mind the legibility and readability for the student.
